Overview
I am a double-board certified, licensed professional counselor and psychotherapist with over 12+ years of experience in mental healthcare. I have worked in a variety of clinical settings, the past 6 years of which have been in private practice in Tennessee and Connecticut. I previously worked in community mental healthcare and higher education in New Jersey. At the undergraduate level, I instructed courses in general psychology and behavioral neuroscience.

I have extensive experience treating anxiety disorders, depression and mood disorder, ADHD, navigating relationship challenges and difficult family dynamics, professional challenges including work burnout and career stagnation and change, and I am an allied and affirming therapist for the LGBTQIA+ community.
Who I Help
My therapeutic work focuses on high-pressure career professionals looking to improve their experience of anxiety, perfectionism, work burnout, and exhaustion. Many of my clients come to me with difficulty striking that ever-elusive “work-life balance” and are seeking to know themselves better and develop insight into what impacts who they are and how they show up in their personal and professional lives.

The professional identities of my clients include physicians and surgeons at each stage of training, nurses and advanced practice providers, attorneys and legal personnel, business executives, and entrepreneurs. Working with diverse clients in high-pressure roles has given me unique insight and understanding into the specific demands and stressors of these careers.

Importantly, who my clients are at home within their own lives takes center focus in our work together.

I also have a special interest in working with undergraduate, graduate, and professional students experiencing challenges with relationships and identity, adjustment to college, anxiety, depression, and achievement pressure. I have worked extensively with students at universities in northeastern and southern parts of the country.
My Approach
It is my ardent belief that establishing a strong, trusting therapeutic relationship with my clients is critical to their success in therapy and is the cornerstone of my clinical practice. I practice using an integrative approach and am passionate about helping my clients reach their personal, academic, social, and professional goals.

Therapy often takes a dynamic, relational lens where clients get to know themselves better, identify personal patterns where they can change something that is not working, as well as have a deeper experience of engagement with their lives.

We will also draw upon Cognitive-Behavioral and Dialectical Behavior Therapy interventions to develop specific and goal-directed strategies for managing painful and disruptive symptoms and developing healthy and adaptive coping mechanisms.

Unlike many therapists who sit back silently, offering little feedback, my therapeutic style is direct, supportive, and curious about my client's life and goals. I am outspoken yet compassionate with my clients in session, offering feedback and insight to foster their growth. As your therapist, I am your ally, here to help you through the best I can to lead a healthier, happier, and more connected life.
